The Doug Blackie Memorial Cup has been named in honor of film and television’s late and great Props Master and builder, Doug Blackie. Doug was enviable in his friendship, loyalty and honor – even ahead of his tireless dedication to his craft. Because of his love for children, the Big Brothers Big Sisters Centre Ice Challenge is an event that Doug would have reveled in and one that he would have captained.

The Doug Blackie Memorial Cup will be passed on in the embrace of crew camaraderie, sportsmanship, spirit of competition and the pure health of happiness.

The winner of this challenge will be entitled to full pedal to the metal bragging rights and possession of the Doug Blackie Memorial Cup created by film production designer John Blackie.
