3rd annual charity celebrity hockey game and family skate to entertain kids from 2 to 92.
WHERE
Murray Arena in Okotoks, Alberta (20 minutes south of Calgary)
The Murray Arena is located in the Okotoks Rec Centre (99 Okotoks Dr)

WHY
To raise funds and awareness for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Calgary, and to stay the memory of Doug Blackie with the awarding of the Doug Blackie Memorial Cup.
We are hosting a family event on Saturday, Oct 29th which will feature the cast, crew, and special guests of Heartland along with numerous local media personalities, NHL Alumni, and celebrities, with a dual purpose.
First and foremost we want to help raise funds and raise awareness for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Calgary. While the event itself will be free to attend, donations will be accepted at the door, and we intend to have some pretty swell raffle items in and around the event to help raise money, too. We also hope to be able to raise awareness of the work and effort of the Big Brothers Big Sisters In-School Mentorship Program and to create an opportunity for “Bigs” and “Littles” to have an afternoon out.
The event is also an opportunity to remember the contributions of Doug Blackie to the local film and television community by once again awarding the “Doug Blackie Memorial Cup”. This challenge trophy was created in the spirit of cameraderie, sportsmanship and the pure health of happiness. It can be competed for by anyone who has a charitable destiny.
The game itself will be a light-hearted, fun, and competitive match that is sure to be enjoyable for the whole family. The afternoon will also have many added components to make sure that everyone gets a little practice smiling.
Post game there will be a FAMILY FUN SKATE allowing the public to interact with all of the celebrities in attendance. So bring your skates and autograph books!
